Notes: Are items 10 & 11, the encore to a single set, and is item 4 the divider between the two nights, or were the tracks carefully overlaid onto the applause in the mastering studio, which makes it possible that there is no single divide between the items from each night’s recording? Item 11 is from the end of a different night, but which one?
This session is available on various releases, on video as well; I believe these are all the same, but this is being researched more thoroughly.

Notes: The radio announcement between items 2 and 3 continues over the beginning of item 3, is for the radio station and the company sponsoring the broadcast; do neither of them think that they endear themselves to the listeners by such ill-considered, art destroying idiocy? Do they think that the listeners to the music that they are sponsoring to gain advertising will respond happily to their destroying the music that they are trying to obtain credit from? Unfortunately, they do not have enough common sense to see otherwise, to see the reality of the situation.
Item 4 fades out prematurely.

The sleeve notes are interesting for this album. For example he says of the Monk piece, I Mean You: “This is one of my favourite Thelonious Monk tunes. The structure of it sets up a natural groove, then all you have to do is listen and respond. Thanks Monk.”

Recording: Commercial for GRP.
Primary Source: A GRP Artists’ Celebration of the Beatles, (I Got No Kick Against Jazz) Modern Jazz GRD-9872.
1. She’s Leaving Home (5:50)
Notes: Overall, this is a rather odd, extremely kitsch theme, collection of artists some of whose connection with GRP is what - George Benson, Gordon ‘Nappy G’ Clay, Dain Krall, Tony Scott, Ramsey Lewis, Lee Ritenour, Nelson Rangell, Chick Corea, Russ Freeman, Spyra Gyra, David Benoit, Arturo Sandoval, Dave Gruisin). This was the time that GRP owned Impulse! and re-issuing their back catalogue, not so well re-mastered as they might have been. Not an album I would buy without this single Tyner track. I will leave it at that, shall I? No, I would like to think that the trio dropped in on their way to the Village Vanguard, or the Sweet Basil.
